My submission — a fashion drawing inspired by a Maison Margiela Artisanal Fall 2016 look — for the Beauty Overdose exhibition presented by Beauty Without Irony and Multitude in the Kasteel Sterckshof in Deurne, Belgium. Other participating artists include Dino Dinco, Adam Munro, Vincent Gagliostro, Anne–Mie Van Kerckhove, and many more..
I was recently commissioned by RISD Museum to do a live portrait drawing event at its Todd Oldham, All of Everything Exhibition Dance Party.
The assignment - a huge success by the way, according to the museum and guests - included creating a whopping 24 live portrait drawings of selected fashionable VIP guests and sponsors in the course of the few hours that the party lasted! For those only watching I added an extra bit of glitter and sparkle to add to the feeling of glamour. Each finished drawing was put on a display and then on a rack to dry overnight, after which the selected guests could easily pick up their signed and packaged portraits.
Below are a few images from the event and resulting drawings - a big thank to you all who sent me these awesome photos!
If you are interested in having me draw at one of your upcoming events or shows or would like to discuss other possibilities of working together, please get in touch!

Directly translated from Finnish, the exhibition title is Fashion Image Now. It explores fashion photography and illustration via the lens of different styles and personalities. In this exhibition I am showing a series of recent drawings documenting the fashion icon Diane von Fürstenberg and her fashion universe. The exhibition is open until this upcoming Saturday.
Can't wait for this upcoming Todd Oldham retrospective at the RISD Museum! I truly admire his fantastic creations. Even more exciting is that the museum invited me to do a live fashion illustration performance at the exhibition dance party this summer - attended by Mr. Oldham himself. Will be fun for sure! Just received my copy of the American Illustration 34 award book with my portrait illustration of Diane von Furstenberg at the backstage of her Spring 2015 fashion show. Check out this amazing book full of the best illustrations that are out there right now!
A few photos from the opening of the New Nordic Fashion Illustration Vol. 2 exhibition opening at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design. If you happen to be in the area I really recommend visiting the exhibition. It is really well done, very impactful and provides a very nice look of the many types and styles of contemporary fashion illustration. For me this was also an amazing opportunity to meet my fashion illustrator colleagues whose work I have been following for years, but didn't know personally. Everyone was really friendly and enthusiastic to connect with each other - almost like a family getting together after a long time!

I'm delighted to announce that I got the opportunity to exhibit a selection of my original fashion drawings at the New Nordic Fashion Illustration Vol. 2 exhibition in The Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design in Tallinn, Estonia. Other participating artists include the famed Cecilia Carlstedt, Stina Persson, Laura Laine, Daniel Egnéus, Liselotte Watkins, Naja Conrad-Hansen.
As noted by the creative director of the exhibition Toomas Volkmann, the display aims to reflect the unique position and colourfulness of that distinctive genre in the modern-day fashion world.
The exhibition will be open from 23 May to 27 September 2015.
Come check it out!
A video of my recent lecture and live fashion illustration demo at RISD Apparel Department including a few of the resulting live illustrations. What a fun and energetic event and talented students! I never before had to explain how I create my live illustrations to an audience while doing it at the same time and it was great! I learned a great deal myself as well, because this made me really think about what I'm doing and articulate all the split second decisions that are natural to me, but new to the students. To be continued for sure!

Refining classic silhouettes through contemporary art and culture. Based in New York City, Misha Nonoo’s work showcases a unique outlook for the sophisticated urbanite – suffused with signature tailored separates and an adventurous spirit for everyday life.
For the Misha Nonoo F/W 15-16 New York Fashion Week show I was commissioned to create a unique illustration for the program flyer describing the collection's mood and to cover the backstage scene live during the fashion show. Above is the resulting illustration applied to the program flyer and the resulting backstage drawings. Enjoy!
Just got these great photos of me sketching at Brown University taken by Brown Daily Herald photographer Timothy Mueller-Harder.
Live drawing capturing a street style look at Brown University. This is part of a new personal project in which I document the student street style in major universities starting from my new home town Providence, RI.
Yesterday I had a wonderful opportunity to sketch from a few pieces at the RISD Museum Textiles Department in Providence, Rhode Island. Materials used were lead pencil, pastels and make-up (YSL, Chanel) on 11x14" Canson Mix Media 160g paper.
