Jarno Kettunen is an award-winning visual artist and illustrator recognized for a high-velocity, minimal aesthetic and a definitive international eye. Currently based in the New York area, his practice is defined by a rare economy of line—capturing the energy of luxury fashion, performance, and the human figure into evocative, modern works of art.
Renowned for capturing the fleeting energy of the fashion world’s most exclusive environments, Kettunen has been invited to document collections at Paris Fashion Week for houses including Dior Homme, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Manish Arora. He debuted at New York Fashion Week with a backstage portrait of Diane von Furstenberg for her Spring/Summer 2015 show.
Through his Traveling Atelier, Kettunen brings a sophisticated live art experience to global venues. His work spans fashion and the performing arts, from portraying VIP clients for Bvlgari and Saks Fifth Avenue to documenting the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium and Alain Platel’s Gardenia at Theater Rotterdam.
His commercial and editorial portfolio includes projects for Chanel, The Coca-Cola Company, and NYLON Guys with featured work appearing in Vogue/style.com (USA), L’Officiel, and the international editions of Elle and Vogue. A dedicated educator, Kettunen has shared his expertise at leading institutions including Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute, and the University of Cincinnati (DAAP).
His work has been exhibited at prestigious international galleries and museums, including the ModeMuseum (MoMu) in Antwerp, Fashion Space Gallery in London, Joyce Gallery in Paris, and Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles.
